Multi-Factor Authentication

Initial Setup

Multi-factor authentication, or MFA, is a second authentication that comes after your password (your ‘first’ authentication). The second authentication sends a code or a request that must be verified to allow you to continue signing in.

Follow the link below for a guide that will walk you through your initial MFA setup.

Did You Replace or Lose the Phone/Device that You had MFA Setup on?

If you are getting a new phone, we recommend that you setup your Authenticator app on your new device before turning in/off your old device, as it will send the code to the old device first. This allows you to setup the new device completely, and then you can turn in/off your old phone.

As a security feature, your Lipscomb account continues to look for your old phone/device that you setup on your account. So it will need to be removed from your account and then your new phone/app may be setup. You will need to contact IT using the request button on this page or by sending them an email. After contacting IT and they reset you, follow the link below for a guide that will walk you through how to setup a new MFA method.
