MFA Fraud

What Is It?

When you receive a Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) code without trying to login, a hacker may be trying to login to your account. MFA stops the hacker from getting in by needing another code from something you have like a phone number.

Who Is Eligible to Use It?

All Lipscomb employees and students.

Where Can I Get It?

Submit a ticket to the Helpdesk using the Request button in the upper right corner. We are automatically notified of MFA fraud alerts but having a ticket will help our Security Analyst communicate with the user.

How Do I Use It?

Make sure each website has a unique password. This will reduce the likelihood of a compromise of your username and password. If the MFA fraud is determined to be real after investigation then your password will be reset.
